Maharashtra Foundation is granted "NGO in Special Consultative
Status" with the United Nations.
Through their letter dated July 21st,
2005, the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations has
informed that the Maharashtra Foundation has been granted Special
Consultative Status with the United Nations.
This status enables the representative
of MF to attend the United Nations meetings and conferences open
to participation by or of special interests to NGOs in consultative
status held at its headquarters in New York and Geneva.
This will give an opportunity to MF representatives
to interact with other NGOs in the similar status, increase MF's
visibility, and seek collaborations to expand our activities and
programs.
MF will also be able to indicate this
status on the letterhead as "NGO in Special Consultative
